A little over a month to go before my first trip home to New Zealand in 3 years! I am SO EXCITED and thought it time to share these photographs from my last batch of processing of my trip home in 2013. Man I crammed loads into that trip.
Good local signs.
A day out at Piha Beach. If we are talking West Auckland beaches I am traditionally more of a Kare Kare girl (Its quieter and I spent pretty much every day in the Summer of 2000-2001 on that beach, painting, getting caught in rip tides and burning my feet on the black sand.) but Piha was quiet as on this visit and I enjoyed it v much. PS Bethells is also nice, but this is not a blog where I rank my favourite West Auckland beaches. But if it was Muriwai would probably be number 5 on the list, its overpopulated and it will always remind me of school camp but there ARE Gannets. Can you tell how excited I am about going home? I’m really excited. Feel free to rank your favourite West Auckland beaches in the comments section below.
Drinks in a secret penthouse location with a friend. We watched Rear Window on the roof terrace, overlooking the harbour. It was incredible. Would live again.
I spent a lot of time on this trip wandering around Auckland by myself, something I hadn’t done since I lived there in 2003. Noticing little details, enjoying things like dairies and melty icecream.
And my brother let my nice English friends who strategically planned a visit at the same time as me (man that was good) to visit shoot his gun, which they bloody loved.
I love the glass in B&W and the first landscapes are so stunning! great set of photos, I love them
