Lemon Balm Seeds

Lemon Balm grows everywhere in my allotment. Around the bases of different raised beds, inbetween cracks in the concrete, under the plum trees, and most ferociously in the bee garden for all to enjoy. It can’t stop giving its joyful scent and calming magic to everyone who shares the space (especially the bees). Last year I harvested the dried flower heads to collect seeds. After carefully teasing each and every seed out of those damned pods, I’ve bundled them in batches of 20 – 30 into tiny handmade envelopes for you to sow with rampant joy. Go forth. Ingredients: … Lemon Balm seeds.

Hand-harvested from the very prolific Lemon Balm that grows all over my allotment. It can’t help itself.

Use: Sprinkle seeds lightly across the surface of soil (this can either be in seed pots at home on a sunny windowsill, or straight into your garden) and gentley brush soil across the seeds before giving a generous water. For best results plant mid March – late April. They should germinate within 10 – 14 days. Keep them well watered and in a sunny spot. Harvest when the plants have got to a decent size and seem to be flourishing, taking the biggest leaves or top sprigs of leaves from where you see fresh baby leaves growing where the stalk meets a pair of leaves. This will keep your plant growing all season!

Important Note: Dark Times Apothecary offerings are small tokens to help you feel like you have some control, or power in these times where lets be honest – none of us feel like we do. They are intented to help you feel less lost, less alone – more grounded and focussed in your own life, time, situation. These are not intented to replace actual healthcare (I am not currently a trained professional), they are intented to be coping mechanisms to help you get through the day. Also they smell nice.

About Us: All Dark Times Apothecary products are made in very small batches from herbs grown, foraged or carefully selected by me, Dianne Tanner. My knowledge comes from extensive learning and research, or was handed down to me through my family and upbringing in rural New Zealand (via ancestors in England and Scotland). I follow a loose Pagan-Witch path, learning with the seasons and finding things that help me cope with the ever-increasingly difficult times we live in. These are the offerings I am sharing here with you, in the hope that they give you some tools to cope as well. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
